Luceda 2026.03 accelerates PIC design
Luceda Photonics launches its 2026.03 platform, introducing integrated DRC, advanced dummy filling, SPICE-based simulation, and improved visual P&R tools to streamline photonic integrated circuit design and tape-out.
Luceda Photonics today announced the release of Luceda Photonics Design Platform 2026.03, a major update that brings manufacturability and circuit verification closer to the design phase.
The platform introduces Luceda DRC, a fully integrated design rule checking engine, along with enhancements in dummy filling, SPICE-based circuit simulation, and visual placement and routing.
Luceda DRC enables designers to detect and resolve layout issues early, with built-in density checks, multi-threaded execution, and Python scripting support for automated verification.
The update also streamlines tape-out preparation through advanced dummy filling, allowing multi-layer processing and post-layout adjustments.
The platform’s new SPICE-based simulation workflow improves transparency and interoperability by allowing netlist export to Caphe, enabling reproducible simulations, parameter sweeps, and easier model debugging.
Visual P&R enhancements in the Luceda Layout Visualizer provide better visibility of component connectivity, helping designers debug and optimise complex layouts more efficiently.
Luceda 2026.03 is compatible with leading foundries, including Advanced Micro Foundry, LIGENTEC, SilTerra, and Tower Semiconductor, supporting a smoother path from design to fabrication.
