ATLANT 3D, A*STAR team on AI materials hub

News

The partnership will advance AI-driven materials development for silicon photonics, semiconductors and advanced packaging in Singapore.

ATLANT 3D, the A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), and the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish an Advanced Materials Development Hub (A-HUB) in Singapore.

The collaboration will combine ATLANT 3D’s Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) technology with A*STAR IMRE’s materials science expertise and NAMIC’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem to accelerate AI-driven materials discovery.

The planned hub will focus on applications in semiconductor manufacturing, silicon photonics and advanced packaging, supporting high-throughput materials synthesis, autonomous materials development and faster technology commercialisation.

The initiative is also intended to strengthen Singapore’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and innovation ecosystem.

According to the partners, A-HUB aims to serve as a shared platform for industry and research organisations developing next-generation materials for photonic and semiconductor technologies.

The project highlights growing industry interest in using AI and automated materials engineering to speed the development of technologies supporting future photonic integrated circuits (PICs), advanced packaging platforms and semiconductor devices.
