ClassOne wins record AOI order
Applied Optoelectronics has placed the largest order in ClassOne Technology’s history to expand 6-inch InP photonics manufacturing for AI-driven optical interconnects.
ClassOne Technology has secured record follow-on orders from Applied Optoelectronics for multiple Solstice S8 single-wafer wet processing systems, supporting the expansion of optical device production at AOI’s Houston facility.
The order, the largest in ClassOne’s history, reflects growing demand for photonic devices as AI datacenter operators increasingly adopt optical interconnect technologies to address bandwidth and power efficiency challenges.
The new systems will support AOI’s transition to 6-inch indium phosphide (InP) wafer production and help accelerate manufacturing capacity for high-speed optical components.
ClassOne said the deal strengthens its position in high-volume photonics manufacturing, with Solstice platforms now deployed across several leading photonics device makers.
The company expects demand for advanced optical interconnect technologies, including future co-packaged optics architectures, to continue rising as AI infrastructure scales.
