Advantest and OpenLight partner up
The companies will develop high-volume test solutions for silicon photonics devices aimed at AI and data centre applications.
Advantest and OpenLight have announced a partnership to develop scalable test solutions for high-volume silicon photonics manufacturing, addressing growing demand for optical interconnect technologies in AI and high-performance computing infrastructure.
The collaboration will focus on creating end-to-end testing solutions for electro-optical devices, including optical engines used in data centres and next-generation networking systems.
As AI workloads continue to increase, silicon photonics and co-packaged optics are being adopted to deliver higher bandwidth, lower latency and improved energy efficiency.
The companies said advanced test capabilities will be critical to enabling the large-scale production of these technologies.
OpenLight will contribute its expertise in heterogeneous silicon photonics integration and photonic application-specific integrated circuit (PASIC) design, while Advantest will leverage its semiconductor test and measurement capabilities.
The partners aim to establish a manufacturing-ready testing platform that supports the scalable deployment of silicon photonics devices and helps accelerate the adoption of optical interconnects for AI infrastructure.
