Junkosha targets 145GHz testing

News

New connector capability targets signal integrity and skew challenges in high-speed optical communication testing.

Junkosha has extended its 0.5 ps skew-matching capability to 0.8 mm connectors, targeting the measurement challenges associated with high-speed optical communication and photonic devices operating at frequencies up to 145 GHz.

The company says its Microwave/mmWave Coaxial Cable Assembly is designed to maintain signal alignment and integrity in high-frequency test setups, where small differences in signal propagation time can affect measurement accuracy and repeatability.

The 0.5 ps skew matching capability is intended to minimise intra-pair timing differences and jitter when characterising high-speed devices and systems.

Junkosha's 0.8 mm connector uses a two-stage connection mechanism in which the centre pin retracts during attachment before advancing into position once the connection is secured. The design is intended to protect the connector during repeated coupling while maintaining consistent electrical contact.

The company is targeting applications in high-speed optical communications and advanced measurement systems, where increasing bandwidth is placing greater demands on electrical interfaces used to test photonic and optoelectronic devices.

Junkosha is demonstrating the 0.8 mm connector alongside its 0.5 mm ruggedised connector and Microwave/mmWave coaxial cable assembly at ECOC 2026.
