TeraSignal demos 200G link training
Live demonstration at ECOC 2026 highlights adaptive link optimisation for next-generation AI connectivity.
TeraSignal and Keysight Technologies are demonstrating CMIS Link Training (CMIS-LT) over a 200G-per-lane high-speed link at ECOC 2026 in Málaga, Spain.
The demonstration, part of the OIF interoperability programme at ECOC, is intended to show how CMIS Link Training can coordinate electrical interface settings between interoperable devices to optimise link performance for next-generation 1.6T AI connectivity.
As data rates reach 200G/lane and beyond, signal integrity can be affected by channel loss, reflections, component variation and differences in system implementations. CMIS-LT provides a standardised mechanism for devices to coordinate link parameters and adapt operation to channel conditions.
The demonstration uses TeraSignal's TSLink technology alongside its Analog Wave Processor (AWP) architecture. The company said the combination enables adaptive linear interconnects designed to optimise high-speed connectivity based on actual channel conditions rather than relying solely on static configurations.
Keysight is supporting the demonstration with its M8050A 120 GBaud High-Performance Bit Error Ratio Tester and N1060A 85 GHz Precision Waveform Analyzer.
“200G/lane connectivity requires the link to become intelligent,” said Armond Hairapetian, CEO of TeraSignal. “CMIS Link Training enables the link to understand its environment and optimise itself.”
The live demonstration is being shown at OIF booth #2126 during ECOC 2026, with TeraSignal also showcasing its AWP and TSLink technologies at booth #1336.
