Astera Labs expands PCIe 7 portfolio
Aries 7 adds optical drivers, TIAs and cable modules to support high-speed optical links across AI data-centre systems.
Astera Labs has expanded its Aries Smart Signal Conditioning portfolio with PCIe 7 solutions spanning copper and optical interconnects for AI infrastructure.
The Aries 7 portfolio includes smart retimers, redrivers, cable modules, optical drivers and optical transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), supporting connectivity from chip-to-chip and box-to-box through to rack-to-rack links.
The optical components are designed for near-package optics (NPO) and linear pluggable optics (LPO), enabling optical connectivity over distances exceeding 50 metres across multiple racks.
The portfolio is intended to give AI system designers greater flexibility in selecting copper or optical links according to reach, power and density requirements.
Astera Labs has also integrated the Aries 7 portfolio with its COSMOS software suite, providing link monitoring, diagnostics and dynamic tuning across deployed systems.
The company expects Aries 7 products to begin sampling to selected customers in Q4 2026, with broader availability following platform qualification.
