Marvell invests $250M to expand India R&D
The investment will expand Marvell's engineering operations, talent base and research infrastructure in India, strengthening its development of AI, cloud and data infrastructure semiconductor technologies.
Marvell Technology has announced plans to invest $250 million in India over the next three years, expanding its research and development capabilities as the company marks 20 years of operations in the country.
The investment includes plans to double Marvell's India headcount, expand its Bangalore campus with a new office wing, and increase its presence in Hyderabad.
The additional resources will support the design and development of advanced semiconductor technologies for AI, cloud and data infrastructure applications.
Since establishing operations in Bangalore in 2006, India has grown to become Marvell's second-largest global R&D organisation.
Engineering teams across Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad contribute to advanced process technologies, high-speed analog IP, software and firmware development, and end-to-end silicon design.
Marvell said it will also continue investing in India's semiconductor ecosystem through collaborations with universities, startups, industry organisations and government bodies, alongside its recently launched Marvell Scholarship for Technical and Engineering Merit (MSTEM) programme, which supports students pursuing engineering and computer science degrees.
