Q/C technologies appoints PIC development lead
The company has named silicon photonics veteran Yossef Ehrlichman to lead photonic integrated circuit development for its optical computing platform.
Q/C Technologies has appointed Yossef Ehrlichman, Ph.D., as Founding Manager, Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Development to lead engineering for the company’s Optical Processing Unit (OPU) initiative.
Dr. Ehrlichman will oversee the development of Q/C Technologies’ proprietary silicon photonic architecture, which is being designed to address the growing performance, bandwidth and energy-efficiency requirements of AI inference.
He brings more than 15 years of experience in the design, fabrication and commercialisation of silicon photonic integrated circuits.
During his career, he has led the design and tape-out of silicon, silicon nitride and hybrid PICs, as well as system integration, high-speed testing and product commercialisation. He has previously held senior engineering roles at Bascom Hunter Technologies, Raytheon and Axalume.
Joshua Silverman, Executive Chairman of Q/C Technologies, said Dr. Ehrlichman’s experience developing silicon PICs from concept to commercialisation would strengthen the company’s engineering capabilities and support the advancement of its proprietary optical computing platform.
The appointment marks the latest expansion of Q/C Technologies’ Optical Processing Unit programme, with the company continuing to build its engineering team across artificial intelligence, silicon photonics and semiconductor technologies as it develops photonic computing solutions for next-generation AI infrastructure.
