Micas unveils 102.4T CPO switch
Tomahawk 6-based platform targets higher bandwidth density and power efficiency in next-generation AI data centres.
Micas Networks has unveiled three 102.4Tbps Ethernet switch platforms based on Broadcom’s Tomahawk 6 technology, including a co-packaged optics (CPO) system designed for next-generation AI infrastructure.
The portfolio, previewed at the OCP Global Summit 2026 in San Jose, California, includes air-cooled 800G and liquid-cooled 1.6T pluggable platforms, alongside a 1RU CPO system using Broadcom’s Tomahawk 6-Davisson architecture.
The CPO platform features 64 1.6T MMC DR8 optical interfaces and 200G SerDes technology. It is designed to increase bandwidth density, improve power efficiency and support reliable high-speed links in large-scale AI networks.
Micas said the CPO system is scheduled to enter production in the first quarter of 2027, while production of the two pluggable platforms is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The announcement builds on Micas’ collaboration with Broadcom on co-packaged optics, extending their work from the Tomahawk 5-Bailly platform to the 102.4Tbps Tomahawk 6-Davisson architecture.
