AIM Photonics advances quantum PICs

News

New York’s quantum investment highlights facilities supporting photonic chip integration, testing and packaging.

AIM Photonics is helping bridge quantum photonics research and semiconductor manufacturing through open-access services supporting the development and integration of quantum photonic devices.

The organisation’s capabilities form part of New York State’s wider quantum technology investment, which includes $360 million for research at Stony Brook University and regional commercialisation hubs.

The initiative aims to connect research and semiconductor infrastructure with commercial applications across sectors including finance, defence and healthcare.

The state has also identified Rochester’s TAP facility as a key resource for quantum optics and photonics, offering photonic integrated circuit testing and packaging capabilities.

These facilities are intended to help researchers move quantum photonic technologies from laboratory development towards manufacturable devices, supporting future commercialisation.
