EMode Photonix raises $1 million
EMode Photonix has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding to advance its photonics simulation software for quantum computing, accelerate product development and expand into the enterprise market.
EMode Photonix, a developer of photonics simulation software, has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding to accelerate product development and expand its commercial presence in the quantum computing market.
The round was led by Ground State Ventures, with participation from Harlow Capital Management.
Founded in 2021, EMode Photonix develops software for designing and optimizing photonic integrated circuits (PICs), with a focus on nonlinear photonics and quantum light generation.
The company said its proprietary simulation technology can accelerate nonlinear photonic circuit simulations by up to 1,000 times compared with conventional approaches.
The technology enables engineers to model complex light transformations, including frequency conversion and the generation of quantum light.
These capabilities support the development of photonic devices used in quantum computing, optical communications, and other emerging photonics applications.
EMode Photonix recently released its nonlinear-EME product, which supports the modeling of second-order nonlinear optical effects for frequency conversion design and optimization.
The company is also preparing an enterprise software offering aimed at streamlining photonic integrated circuit design.
The funding will support further product development and sales expansion as the company targets growing demand for photonics engineering tools in quantum technology development.
