Aluvia Photonics expands PIC capabilities with PhotonDelta support
Aluvia Photonics, a developer of Aluminium Oxide (AlOx) photonic integrated circuits (PICs), has secured new funding from PhotonDelta to expand its technology and deepen collaborations within the Dutch photonics ecosystem. The investment will accelerate ongoing projects and strengthen partnerships with customers and suppliers in the region.
Aluvia’s AlOx platform offers compact, scalable waveguides and amplifiers for telecom, quantum, and UV-visible applications, complementing existing photonic chip technologies. The platform enables new functionality and performance enhancements for integrated photonic devices.
Steve Stoffels, CEO of Aluvia Photonics, said, “With PhotonDelta’s support, we can expand local capabilities, strengthen the ecosystem, and accelerate innovation across the photonics sector.” Erwin Holtland, PhotonDelta Investment Manager, added, “Aluvia’s technology acts as both a multiplier and an accelerator for our portfolio companies, while supporting their growth and scale.”
PhotonDelta’s backing positions Aluvia for a new investment round in 2026, aimed at scaling manufacturing and further reinforcing the Netherlands’ integrated photonics ecosystem.
