ANELLO Photonics awarded contract with US Army

News

The company, which focuses on silicon photonics for navigation, has been selected for a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II, following their selection as an “xTech Search 7 Open Topic Finalist” and completing their Phase I SBIR for the US Army

ANELLO Photonics, a company focusing on integrated silicon photonics solutions for navigation in GPS-denied environments, has announced that it has been awarded a Phase II SBIR contract for the US Army. During the 18-month period, the company says it will demonstrate the capabilities of its innovative silicon photonics optical gyroscope technology and sensor fusion technology for navigation in environments without GPS.

According to ANELLO, the Phase II SBIR award enables it to showcase to the US Army its cutting-edge integrated silicon photonics technology together with its products using the ANELLO AI-based sensor fusion engine. This aims to ensure that the US Army platforms can maintain high-accuracy navigation in challenging GPS-denied situations.

“We are excited to work with the US Army and provide them access to our innovative and cutting-edge SiPhOG technology,” said Mario Paniccia, CEO of ANELLO Photonics. “Within this programme, the US Army can directly evaluate and experience first-hand the benefits of the ANELLO products for navigation in GPS-denied or contested environments.”

ANELLO Photonics adds that it is currently engaged with various market-leading customers in the construction, farming, trucking, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous vehicles, and national security space.
