Anritsu Field Tester Upgrade Supports 100G Apps

News

Anritsu has announced that the company has improved its Network Master Pro MT1000A multi-function field tester to support 100 Gbps with Ethernet Common Public Radio Interface (eCPRI) and IEEE 1914.3 Radio over Ethernet (RoE), along with high-accuracy delay measurement functions. With the option installed, the MT1000A can be used by communication network installation companies, communications equipment vendors, and mobile operators for installation and maintenance of 5G networks carrying eCPRI/RoE traffic.

With support of eCPRI/RoE/CPRI, Ethernet, optical transport network (OTN), fibre channel, SDH/SONET, PDH/DSn, and other all-in-one network evaluations, one MT1000A can perform bit error rate (BER), throughput, and latency tests on mixed communications networks based on existing optical and digital communications standards.

Anritsu said that the MT1000A can be combined with the high performance GPS disciplined oscillator MU100090A receiver option with built-in rubidium reference clock to evaluate time synchronization accuracy for time error measurements. By integrating the MU100090A option, which provides GPS time data, the MT1000A also supports complementary high-accuracy latency measurements.

The MT1000A assists in automated testing and pass/fail evaluations, making an external controller, such as a PC, unnecessary. Operators can run network tests, perform Pass/Fail evaluations, and easily create test reports with the Network Master Pro, Anritsu stated.

With the new firmware update supporting eCPRI/RoE traffic and high-accuracy latency measurements, the handheld tester offers reliable tests on 10G, 25G, and 100G metro, access, and mobile networks. It supports Sync-E and IEEE 1588v2 tests, as well as other network evaluation test standards, including RFC2544 and Y.1564.
