Data Centre Service Provider Deploys Coriant Solution To Boost Capacity In Major Cities Across China

Coriant, a global supplier of SDN enabled end to end packet optical networking and DCI solutions announces Beijing Internet Harbor Technology is utilising it's Groove G30 Network Disaggregation Platform to scale metro network capacity and enhance high speed interconnect services.

Coriant, has announced that Beijing Internet Harbor Technology ("BIH"), which provides Internet Data Centre (IDC) and value added cloud computing services in China, has deployed the Coriant Groove G30 Network Disaggregation Platform (NDP) to scale metro network capacity and enhance high speed interconnect services for its end user customers, including large and small enterprises, Internet and Web 2.0 providers, and government agencies. The Coriant Groove G30 solution for Internet Harbor includes 200G line side transmission, and spans major metropolitan cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

Configured as a muxponder, the compact 1RU Groove G30 solution enables Internet Harbor to cost-efficiently support delivery of 10 G, 40 G, and 100 G interconnect services while maximising utilisation of fibre resources with 200G DWDM transport. The Groove G30 integrates with Internet Harbor's existing metro optical layer solution, a mesh-based ROADM network built upon the Coriant 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platform. Service provisioning across the integrated muxponder/ROADM solution is provided by the Coriant Transport Network Management System (TNMS), an end-to-end management platform that enables Internet Harbor to simplify and accelerate point-to-point service activation while reducing operating expenses with automated provisioning capabilities.

o support the multi-city Groove deployments and ensure non-disruptive integration with the 7100 ROADM network, Coriant provided Internet Harbor with a comprehensive range of planning, design, installation, and maintenance services delivered by Coriant's technical support team in China.

The Groove G30 NDP is purpose-built to deliver programmable, high speed, and secure bandwidth that today's cloud applications require, with ultra-low power consumption, high density, and flexibility for high-performance data centre connectivity at the lowest total cost. The stackable solution supports 3.2 terabits of capacity throughput in a compact and highly pluggable 1RU form factor, which is designed to allow service providers and cloud and data centre operators to build their own scalable and secure DCI transmission and optical line solutions with 'best-in-class' functions, all enabled through open APIs. The silicon photonics-enabled solution supports programmable DWDM line interfaces in order to optimise the bandwidth and performance of high-capacity transmission from 100 G to 400 G in metro, regional, or long-haul DCI applications.
